REDEEMED FROM REJECTION

Can we finally talk about rejection? Can we talk about how you can feel completely isolated amongst so-called "friends"? How you can do the all work and someone else get all the credit? How you give your whole heart and still leave empty? Baby... rejection is a beast. It's the 400-lb gorilla walking around in a room turning tables and chairs and your world up-side-down. You are afraid of it, but also afraid to say it's there because who wants to say they've been rejected? No one. The power behind rejection can lead to depression, anxiety attacks, and unhealthy habits and we still won't talk about it. But just because we won't articulate the pain, doesn't we don't waste minutes, hours, days debating the issue in our mind. "Why?"

"What did I do to deserve this?"

"Wasn't I good enough?"

On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths. 5 No one looked on you with pity or had compassion enough to do any of these things for you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open field, for on the day you were born you were despised. ~Ezekiel 16:4-5 NIV

The time and space you give rejection to play ping-pong in your psyche takes it away from your brilliance, creativity, and peace. Who has time for that? God has a response and a resolution for every rejection. Do you want your time, your space, your peace back? Me, too. Let's go get it. "Why?" Think about like this... When someone needs a heart transplant, there can be many options available, but are they viable? The blood type has to be the same. The heart has to be the right size and free of disease or toxicity so it doesn't contaminate the body. Child of God, you keep living like a heart trying to find a home when in fact, you're the body. That someone or something you keep trying to take in can be perfect "on paper", and still not be compatible for you. Control what's in your space. If it's not a good fit, that doesn't mean the body is inadequate and it may not mean the heart is inadequate. But, it definitely means the vessel is not sufficient to give you life.

“‘Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, “Live!” I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew and developed and entered puberty. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown, yet you were stark naked. ~Ezekiel 16:6-7 NIV

That's why, God, our Master Physician, is so crucial to our emotional and mental well-being. He focuses on you what you need. Regardless of your history or your bad choices or the world's rejection, God says, "Live!". He knows what is toxic for you, how to get rid of it, and how to heal you after. If a translated heart starts to become a problem, the physician never says, "the heart is rejecting the body". No, the body is rejecting the heart. Sometimes, a thing is only transplanted in your life for a season. Doesn't mean you have to die with the relationship. “‘Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine. ~Ezekiel 16:8 NIV Why were you rejected?

Because that vessel (person, thing, opportunity) was not meant for you.

And guess, what? It's okay because the Sovereign, reigning, in-charge God has a vessel (person, thing, opportunity) that is meant just for you. It's time to redeem the time and live. Trust the Master Physician to bring to you what will give you life. Do it his way... under his love and in his covenant. When Jesus is in control... People were overwhelmed with amazement.

“He has done everything well,” they said. ~Mark 7:37
