An Affirmation for Your Elevation

There’s a lot of talk about 2020. You say you are ready.

God says, “Good. Let’s go.”

He leads you to a spacious place with three options so you can discern and learn the right path to take…

The first, a flight of climbing stairs. You’ve seen these before, hesitantly look at floor after floor. So much energy, so little return. It’s time to do something different.

Next is a shiny escalator with wide landings for your feet and the people-baggage you refuse to let go of. Some are just taking up space, others come from behind climbing over you like crabs in a barrel trying to reach the top.

All the commotion has you stuck between steps.

You finally make it to the next level, but it's not your destination. Is this where God wants you to be? Your taste for destiny is becoming desperate. No more climbing to nowhere. Purpose awaits you in the penthouse.

You need a heavenly lift.

God smiles. “Now, we’re making progress. To be prepared for what I have for you, there are three things you must do: You must change the way you look at me, change the way you live with me, and change the way you learn from me. But it won’t be easy. You can only see me as a provider if you lack, only believe I am a way-maker when you have no way out, and only know me as a burden-bearer when the baggage become too much.”

He guides you to the elevator. It’s small. Secluded. Embedded mirrors on the walls force you to see who you really are and who you will become.

God is moving, but you don't know how. Motors, pulleys, and hydraulics are working out of your sight and out of your control. Suddenly, there’s a stop you didn’t see coming and the one you knew would go all the way with you is gone. Only Jesus and the ones who can handle your higher ground will make this trip.

Jesus? Did you remember Jesus? He is the One raising you up.

There is no elevation without Him.

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” ~ John 12:32

All your grind will get you nowhere unless you are riding with the One whose love never fails.

Something is happening in this sacred, isolated space. How you look at God is changing, how you live with God is evolving, how you learn for God maturing.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ~ 1 Corinthians 13: 11-12

You have arrived at Destiny. Final stop.

The door opens…
